Free compliance gap assessment: what is due at your workplace?
Use this free tool to check which occupational hygiene assessments, surveys and tests your workplace needs, and which are overdue. Answer eight questions about your site, enter the dates from your latest reports, and the tool builds an action plan you can print, save as a PDF or send to us for a quote.
What the tool checks
The tool covers 30 requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 and its regulations, in four groups:
Risk assessments for asbestos, hazardous chemical agents, lead, noise, physical agents, hazardous biological agents and ergonomics, plus the overall occupational health risk assessment.
Monitoring surveys for noise, chemical agents, lead, heat, cold, illumination, indoor air quality, vibration, non-ionising radiation and biological agents, plus air monitoring and clearance inspections for asbestos work.
Tests of control measures, such as the 24-month examination of local exhaust ventilation, spray booths and mechanical ventilation.
Facilities checks for drinking water and hygiene facilities, which have no fixed legal interval.
Your answers in step 1 decide which items apply. Where a regulation sets a maximum interval, the tool adds it to the date you enter and shows whether the item is overdue, due within three months or up to date. Anything never done goes straight onto your action plan.
The intervals are maximums. Redo an assessment sooner when processes, equipment or controls change, after an incident, or when medical surveillance shows an adverse health effect.
Your answers stay in your browser. Nothing is sent to Qualitas unless you choose to send it.
