Privacy Policy

Effective 8 October 2026

Who we are

Qualitas Occupational Consulting (Pty) Ltd ("Qualitas", "we") is the responsible party for personal information collected through qualitasoc.com and in the course of our work. Our Information Officer is Christo de Wet. Email christo@qualitasoc.com, phone 082 649 6599.

What we collect

Quote and contact requests: what you send through our website form, email, phone or WhatsApp, such as your name, company, email address, phone number, site location and details about your site.

During an assessment: information about the people and work areas we assess, such as names, job titles, tasks and personal sampling results, as needed for the report.

Website use: browsing data such as pages visited, device type and approximate location, collected through cookies and analytics tools.

Why we use it

We use it to respond to enquiries and prepare quotes, carry out and report on assessments, meet our legal, accreditation and record-keeping obligations, and improve our website. We send service reminders, such as when a repeat assessment is due, only to existing clients, and you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed: with accredited laboratories that analyse samples; with SANAS or the Department of Employment and Labour where accreditation or the law requires it; with service providers that host our website and email; and with the client who commissioned an assessment, for the people assessed on its behalf. Assessment reports are confidential under our ISO/IEC 17020 quality system.

Information sent outside South Africa

Our website platform and some analytics providers store data on servers outside South Africa. We use providers that are bound to protect it as POPIA requires.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't become work are kept for up to two years. Assessment records are kept for as long as the relevant regulations and our accreditation require. Some occupational health records must be kept for many years.

How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including access controls and secure storage, to prevent loss, misuse or unauthorised access.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies for basic functions and for anonymous analytics. You can block cookies in your browser, though some features may not work properly.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. You may also object to processing and withdraw consent to direct marketing. Contact our Information Officer at the details above.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at www.inforegulator.org.za.
