OUR SERVICES IN GQEBERHA AND KARIEGA
- Do spray painters need isocyanate monitoring?
Where two-pack paints containing isocyanates are sprayed, yes. Isocyanates are respiratory sensitisers with very low exposure limits, so the Regulations for Hazardous Chemical Agents, 2021 call for a risk assessment and air monitoring by an approved inspection authority.
How often must a spray booth be tested?
Spray booths and other local exhaust ventilation must be examined and tested at intervals not exceeding 24 months under regulation 12(b) of the Hazardous Chemical Agents Regulations.
Our plant is new in the Coega SEZ. Which assessments come first?
A baseline risk assessment to identify the hazards, then noise and chemical surveys for the processes that need them. Our free Compliance Gap Analysis checklist shows what applies.
